Ferry System
One of the most unique aspects of Washington State is its ferry system. Guests must take the ferry to the wedding venue since it is on an island.
We highly recommend that you read the Washington State Ferry guide for first-time riders to familiarize yourself with the ferry system. You can either walk on or drive on with your vehicle.

Reservations
Ferry reservations are required to get to San Juan Island with your vehicle and must be booked as early as possible. We will send out reminders when tickets for May 24th ferries become available.
The percentage of vehicle reservations for ferries on May 24th, 2025 will be released as follows:
1. 25% of tickets released on May 10, 2025 at 10:00am PT
2. 25% of tickets released on May 22, 2025 at 10:00am PT
3. The remaining tickets for stand-by vehicle reservations are released on the date of the ferry. We don't recommend this option as ferries can fill up quickly.

Seattle-Tacoma Airport (SEA)
We recommend that guests fly into the Seattle-Tacoma Airport (SEA-TAC) and drive to the Anacortes Ferry Terminal. This airport is the largest airport in Washington state and should have plenty of flight options available.
Driving to the Anacortes Ferry Terminal
If you are renting a car, then you can drive to the Anacortes Ferry Terminal in ~2 hours. The drive is straightforward and follows I-5 north for most of the way.
As you approach the ferry terminal, be sure to look for ferry signage as specific road lanes are reserved for ferry traffic.
Shuttle to/from Anacortes Ferry Terminal
Shuttles to and from the Anacortes Ferry Terminal are available for walk-on passengers without a car. If you take this approach, please note that taxis are sparse, and ride-shares are not available on the island.
Shuttle service: Bellair Shuttle
Driving your own vehicle
San Juan Island is easy to drive around if you bring a vehicle. We recommend this approach since other modes of transportation on the island are very limited, especially during evening hours.
Other transportation
There are a few options available if you are walking onto the ferry.

Flights to the island
If you want to avoid the ferry, there are small propeller planes and seaplanes that regularly fly to San Juan Island.
